PCOD is not a disease but the syndrome called PCOS - Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome which needs to be managed with a comprehensive & personalized approach.
Period irregularities, weight gain & facial hair are typical symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). Additionally, PCOS can result in excessive body and facial hair development, acne, infertility, weight gain, hormone imbalance, and a host of other underlying problems. However, PCOS symptoms may be treated and the risk of serious consequences can be reduced with a healthy & balanced diet and frequent exercise.
Balanced nutrition & whole foods are essential and very important for PCOS conditions.
Artificial sweeteners, hormones, and preservatives are absent from whole foods. These foods are as near to their raw, natural condition as is practical. You may include entire foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes in your diet apart from protein rich foods like sprouts, whole eggs, pumpkin & sunflower seeds.
Low-grade chronic inflammation is common in PCOS. Increase your intake of anti-inflammatory foods.
Foods high in magnesium that are suitable for PCOS/ include almonds, cashews, spinach, and bananas.
Consuming caffeine may alter hormone behavior and estrogen levels. Attempt substitutes like herbal tea. Skip the coffee.
One should not look at one or two symptoms & treat it individually or with only symptomatic treatment but the whole syndrome has be taken care with root cause elimination.
Rather treating it symptomatically, it should be cured so that it does not resurface again in future.
It affects physical, Mental & also emotional well-being as It’s a vicious cycle. To break out of a cycle, start taking small measures & steps & reach to the bottom of root cause & completely eliminate it. It can be reversed with lifestyle-based changes over the long term.
Ayurveda approach of correcting the metabolism with certain potent herbs & balanced diet can help to manage the PCOS condition.
I have been treating lot of PCOS patients with specific guidelines of Ayurveda & Nutrition with personalized approach which helps patients to come out of the vicious cycle and treat the condition at route which help them to lead a healthy life in future.
